Nau mai whakatau mai ki Hato Petera
It is our mission to send out from Hato Petera College young leaders who have achieved in all areas of learning and school activities; who are prepared for the challenges of this changing world; are strong in the practice and knowledge of te reo Māori me ōna tikanga; with an insight into the Catholic example of being an influence for good among their fellows during their lifetime.
To achieve this the college strives to be a community where Māori etiquette and behaviour are practised on all occasions.
A place the students regard as home, their tūrangawaewae.
Māori values, attitudes and practices are fostered, enhancing each young person's identification with his people and heritage.
Our dedicated teachers inspire students to have confidence in themselves by giving them new challenges and helping them to build a strong personal foundation of skills and life experiences that are influenced by Hato Petera's Catholic faith and special character.
At Hato Petera students will be given training that prepares them for their part in the world - today, and tomorrow.
Hato Petera College is the only Integrated, Māori Catholic Co-educational School in the world. We offer a premium education to girls and boys in Years 9-13. The College campus is located on 15 acres in the suburb of Northcote, nine kilometres from the centre of Auckland and bordering the waters of the Waitemata Harbour. Our students enjoy extensive playing fields and excellent learning facilities.
Established in 1928, the College has evolved into a state-of-the-art, educational facility which remains true to its traditions of Catholic faith and tikanga Māori values. We promote leadership and service to others. Te Reo Māori me ōnā tikanga and mātauranga Māori is central to our way of life.
E whakaako ana i nga rangatira mo tenei ra me nga ra kei te heke mai.
